Research Focus:
During development and throughout adulthood, the nervous system undergoes profound structural and connectivity rearrangements. Early in development, cortical GABAergic interneurons contribute to transient neural circuits, which are later remodeled in their structure and synaptic strength, and are essential for the correct establishment of mature cortical circuits. In my PhD work, I investigated the co- and post-transcriptional mechanisms involved in the regulation of neuronal properties and function. In the Fishell lab, I aim to understand the molecular mechanisms involved in regulating the formation of developing cortical circuits.
